They are opponents from the same division - Northeast, and this is their first match against each other in this season. Ottawa Senators had weak start of the season, with four victories and six defeats (one after OT). At home, Ottawa played five matches, won three and lost two, with goal difference 13:12 or an average five goals per match. So, just like margin which bookies have used for tonight's match. Boston Bruins played three matches less than Ottawa, but with much better efficiency - five victories and two defeats. On matches away Bruins achieved all three victories, with impressive goal difference, 10:2. On the average their matches away finished with four goals. So, under 5.5 goals looks like good option. But, having regard to the movement of some of the results it can be a risky pick.
We can say that Senators are team with moderate efficiency. They scored on the average 2.6 goals per match. But, their efficiency often was expressed fully after the first period of game. The first periods of their matches were ended with exactly one scored goal on the five of ten played matches. Bruins had exactly one scored goals on three of seven played matches, but all three were on matches at home. Of three matches away two ended without goals in the first period, and one with three goals.
Last year no one match between these clubs ended with exactly one goal scored in the first period. So, it could be good sign to bet on an other tip, No Goals or Over 1.5, but I will try looking for the first one. Light stake, of course.
