Match Ottawa - Atlanta is the meeting of two teams with totally different approach to the game. While Ottawa is aggressive with a lot of shots on goal of the opponents, so far Atlanta is oriented to stalking opportunities to score from counter-attack, with fewer shots on goal of opponents. Playing at home, in the previous nine matches in this season, Senators had over 60.5 shots on goal only in three games, primarily due to a smaller number of shots their opponents, but there was one match on which the Senators made only 19 shots. Atlanta Thrashers, playing on road, had over 60.5 shots on goal in seven of eight so far played matches. Thrashers allowed a lot of shots on the goal, but they also scored many goals on each of those matches away from home. In the last season, playing against each other on four matches they made over 60.5 shots on three of those matches - 62, 72, 59 and 66.
Both teams are without absences of forwards, what is good occasion for my bet. Trashers will be without injured defenders Freddy Meyer, who was practicing, but he is not ready fore competition. As for Senators, forward Michalek will be again in the team, while defender Filip Kuba will go at backup bench.
Ottawa is in excellent series (6-4-0) and they will want to continue that series, while Atlanta is always in good mood to sent many shots to opponents goal.
