This is a Bulgarian Cup match and it will be a repetition to the semi-final of last season. Chavdar Etropole are a team from B PFG (Second division), but they are very ambitious and will fight for promotion this season. Coach Atanas Atanasov have some good players in his squad, namely - Kraev, Valchanov, Pashov, Ruskov and Nikolov and most of the team are very young lads, that are determined. I should say that Chavdar's youth setup is one of the best in Bulgaria and it comes as no suprise that some of the players are youth international, despite the fact that Chavdar are playing Second division football.
Beroe are coming to Etropole with the clear aim of winning this clash and progress. "Zaralii" have won the cup last term, that's why they will try to defend their trophy. Coach Ilian Iliev admitted that he will use his regular players and it is clear that there will be no underestimation. Captain Slavi Zhekov is injured and he misses the clash, along with Stoycho Mladenov Jr and Radoslav Bachev. Around 300 fans will travel to Etropole to support Beroe, which is a good number for Bulgaria. Beroe have a 3-1-4 record away from home this season and 9:13 goal difference.
I expect a tight game between these two teams today. Both Chavdar and Beroe will start the match with a cautious approach and will eventually adjust their gameplay. Last year this match ended with 0:1 win to Beroe and I expect something similar today. Under 2.5 goals is my pick.
