I will go with higher stakes here, because I think this bet has clear value. Steve Beaton was impressive against Phil Taylor and shocked everyone with a win, while Scott Waites was about average, but managed to get through against under-par Co Stompe. Scott Waites likes it here, but Steve Beaton is close to a title after a long time and after the win, he will be up for it. He has been solid all week long (unlike Waites) and during such a long match, it will tell. In my opinion, he should be a slight favorite, not a slight underdog. Unless Waites produces something like he has done against Lewis, which is very unlikely given the long format and added pressure, he should be the worse player over 31 legs. Remember, Steve Beaton has been around for much longer than Scott Waites and has also accomplished much more. If he could go out there and beat Taylor, who was averaging big numbers, why couldn't he beat Beaton today? He surely can, and I like the chances he will at odds of 2.31. Good luck.
