Shepherd seems to be a huge price here. Granted, he has not had a good year so far, but while form is temporary, class is permanent and he is only a little bit worse than Jones. Jones is good, but also has a lot of off days. This is a pretty short match, just best of five sets and if Kirk Shepherd finds some rhythm early one, he can seriously push Jones and perhaps even win. The odds here do not reflect the chances accurately, so with a medium stake, this is certainly playable. If you have to pick someone who may be under pressure here, it will be Jones. He has to win here after a solid season, but we all know what the “has to” business is all about. Shepherd is no doubt talented and has shown that on many occasions – his main problem is inconsistency. Here, he has to win just three sets and that is certainly doable for him. He has been off the big stage for quite some time, but this is a perfect opportunity to show that he has still got the game. This is 2.70 at best in my book. Good luck.
