These two have split the two meetings, as Schwartzman won the 2017 US Open and Cilic won the 2017 Istanbul Open. Schwartzman has been great with his return, but I’m not sure that matters with Cilic powering the ball like he has lately. On hard court, Cilic is going to get so many free points with his serve and put pressure on Schwartzman to play perfect tennis. Schwartzman hasn’t been as consistent with his second serve to get the job done in those situations. Cilic will see just enough break chances to get the job done here. Cilic reaches the quarters.
