Wil hosts Servette in round 3 of the Swiss Challenge League. Wil is going to try to be among the contenders for promotion this season but it is going to be very difficult. After the Turkish investors backed out a season back Wil is not really competitive. They don`t have the budget and also have to depend on youth players for strenghtening the team. There wasn`t much influx of quality players coming in Wil this season but also not many have left the team. Wil finished 7`th last season and something like that is expected again. Interrestingly enough they took more losses at home than away. Wil is 6`th with 3 points after beating winterthur 2:0 at home and losing to Schaffhausen 2:0 away. With Lausanne Servette is the top contender for promotion this season. With the second highest budget and some quality players coming in this season Servette is the team to beat. They started great beating Aaarau 2:0 and Chiasso 3:0, both away from home. Servette finished third in the previous two season and this season they have to step out. Servette got a new coach - Alain Geiger who has a lot on international experience. There are also players like Sauthier, Follonier, Wüthrich, Rouiller, Lang, Maccoppi, Alphonse, Duah, Sarr with Superliga experience. Duah came from Young boys, Follonier from Luzern, Rouiller from Lugano, Maccoppi from Lausanne. So far the performance is great and especially wining 2 away games is filling the team with confidence. There are a lot of injured players in Servette early on but they had no problems. With those players coming back Servette will be even stronger. This though is probably the reason for jumping odds but I still fancy Servette today. Wil will be missing Herter while Servette is without Alphonse, Antunes, Cespedes, Duah, Imeri, Sarr, Schalk, Wüthrich. Only 2 of them have played so far and Wuthrich with 2 goals is the biggest absence. Servette won 5 of the last 7 against Wil with the other two finishing a draw.
