You are here

With the group stage action in the U21 Euro done and dusted, it's time to take a look at the four teams that are still in the contest for the big trophy. You don't need to hurry with your bets, however, as everything is going to take place over the weekend, with the Germans the main favourites at 2.37 with Bet365.

They will have to get past Portugal, the second favourites, in the semi-finals, however, and the fact that they only managed to draw against the Czechs in their last match means that they will have to travel away from Prague in order to play their match, a hassle that could dent their chances. If you fancy Portugal to take advantage of that, Pinnacle are the place to go, offering 3.46 for their victory.

The second semi is going to see a Nordic showdown between Denmark and Sweden, two teams that most people were writing off before the tournament even started. They've both made it past difficult opposition, however, and will see this as a big chance for success considering the draw. Denmark go into the match as 2.30 favourites at Betway and that's a position they fully deserve after beating the Czechs and the Serbs, but the bet that stands out the most for us given how the teams have played so far is a bet on there being more than two goals.

Semi-finals are often tight affairs and the U21 Euro should be no different in that regard, but these two teams seem to be quite offensively-minded and there's a lot of rivalry involved as well, so we find it strange to see the overs priced at odds against at BetVictor. After all, their pre-tournament friendly finished 2-2, featuring a red card and two penalty kicks.
