Wacker Burghausen welcomes Bayreuth in round 5 of the Regionalliga Bayern. The hosts are set as very good favorites and just by looking at the table you don`t have to wonder why. Wacker is leading the league with 12 points and all four wins till now. It is a bit of a surprise as they are a mid table team but is is early days to say anything. Wacker has often struggled away from home but now have 2 wins added to their very good home advantage. Truth be told they faced very average sides till now but Bayreuth is even bellow that. They do usually play very well at home and they had only 4 losses last season. The defense has been tight with 2 goals conceded and they scored 2 goals in both of their home matches. I don`t know how Bayreuth avoided relegation last season as they finished 17`th but obviously they had some luck as after all they played the play –off and passed over Aubstadt from Oberliga. Bayreuth had pretty miserable performances away from home but played somewhat better on home ground. Now from 4 matches played they played 3 at home and lost to Heimstetten 0:1, Furth II 0:2 and Memmingen 0:3. With the away loss to Schweinfurt 4:0 things couldn`t be worse. Bayreuth is rooted to the bottom with 0 poits and 0:10 gd. Trully disgusting. What better can they expect against the leaders? Bayreuth played their last match on monday evening and since the start they were dominated by Memmingen. Besides the heavy 3:0 loss they will feel some tiredness as well. Burghausen has great stats against Bayreuth and won the last 5 covering the spread 4 times. Wacker will be missing Omelanowsky and Merz while Bayreuth is without Makarenko, Held and Skowronek.
