All the top European leagues are now underway - or are they? Well, clearly, there's still one big league missing, the Spanish La Liga, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Spain is the country that we'll be focusing on in this pre-season betting preview. The team that everyone is speaking about right now is Barcelona and it is not only because of their dramatic victory in the Super Cup. But is it really a good idea to bet on Barcelona to win the league in the upcoming season?

Well, we think that it isn't, it really is as simple as that. Let's look at the reasons then. Firstly, Barcelona have been strangely shaky in recent weeks and months, with the defense being an obvious issue. Secondly, they still seem to be overly reliant on Messi - on paper, there are plenty of solid players to replace him if necessary, but it just isn't working out as it should whenever he's away. Finally, there's going to be tremendous pressure on them given that they won the Champions League in the previous season. All of that could lead to some poor results here and there in La Liga, so we think that it's better to back Real Madrid to win the trophy this time around. They're priced at 2.70 to do that at Unibet.

In the relegation betting, we simply cannot ignore the odds that are on offer for Real Betis. We all know how their last run in La Liga went and there's nothing suggesting that they are much better now than they were back then, so chances are that they won't be able to avoid relegation once again. It's clear enough that there are better candidates for relegation in, say, Las Palmas or Sporting Gijon, but the odds Bet365 offer make Real Betis our preferred selection.

Finally, let's also say a few words about the Top Goalscorer market. It's obvious that it's going to be between Ronaldo and Messi yet again, but we're going to side with the Real Madrid striker. It's not only because we think that Real Madrid will be doing better than Barcelona, but it's also because there's nobody in Real Madrid that could possibly steal the show from him as far as the scoring is concerned. Bet365 have the best odds for our selection.
